Gregory J. Blotnick is a Manhattan-born and Palm Beach County-based writer who founded Valiant Research LLC, an investment firm focused on the Consumer sector. Blotnick was previously a hedge fund manager, and has remained a seasoned contributor to financial media.

With over a decade of experience in the investment industry, Blotnick has held analyst and portfolio management roles at top-tier hedge funds, including Citadel and Schonfeld.

Blotnick's background spans both short-term trading and long-term fundamental investing, offering him a well-rounded perspective on market dynamics and behavioral finance. Blotnick began his hedge fund career in 2009 at Doubloon Capital as an equity analyst.

In 2017, Blotnick joined Citadel, one of the top hedge funds in the business, as a consumer sector specialist on a team overseeing more than $1 billion in gross market value. There, he sharpened his approach to short-term catalysts, earnings revisions, and relative value trading. He later brought that expertise to Schonfeld, where he was part of a $400 million market-neutral portfolio team.
